KEEPING PROMISES: GEORGIA STORIES" by Gillian Russell Grable
This book highlights stories that reveal the capacity for both paid and natural
support of family, friends and neighbors to enable people with developmental disabilities to live
in their homes and thrive in their communities.
Author Gillian Russell Grable drove along roads and highways to visit families and listen to their
stories. She has had the privilege of learning with people with disabilities, families, and community members for over 30 years. She delights in introducing people to one another and watching people find and receive each other’s’ gifts. You will meet in these narratives people with developmental disabilities and their family members: Susannah and Sam; David and Marguerite; Ethel and Belinda; Sarah and Robbie; Eddie and Josephine; Gennet and Effie; and Jimmy and Madge.
